Publication types

Pure allows enter information to be entered about many different types of research outputs. To add records of outputs to Pure, click on the green button Add new (on the top right side of the screen) and select the category Research output, which displays a menu of various outputs.

Research outputs can be added to Pure by filling in a template specific for each type of contribution. Some templates are discussed in more detail below. Please click here to find out how to add a publication or other type of research output to Pure.

Conference materials in Pure

Please note that there are several possible ways to add information about conference contributions to Pure, depending on the exact nature of the material. If the contribution is a conference paper or abstract published in a conference proceeding, please use the template Chapter in Book / Report / Conference proceeding. If the contribution is a paper or a poster (not published in a proceeding), please use the template Contribution to conference. Notice that information about conferences that have been organised, chaired or attended (without presenting) can be added as Activities under template Conference contribution.

Articles in magazines and newspapers

To add information about articles published in magazines and newspapers, please use the template Contribution to non-peer-reviewed publication and choose the sub-template Newspaper article.

Research outputs in other media

There are a number of options for adding non-textual research outputs to Pure. Please note that on each of these templates there is a section Event (towards the end of the template) where the details on the event itself can be added, whilst giving details about the specific contribution in the title and abstract fields.

Please note that the Activities section in Pure should be used to record the details of activities. It needs to be considered whether what is being recorded is a research output or an activity.
