If you have an Open Research and Contributor (ORCID) ID, you can add it to your personal record in Pure. ORCID is an open, non-profit, community-driven effort to create and maintain a registry of unique researcher identifiers and a transparent method of linking research activities and outputs to these identifiers. Please visit ORCID website to find out more information about the initiative or to register for an ORCID ID.
To add an existing ORCID ID to your Pure record, please log on to Pure and click on the button Edit profile in the middle of the page under your name and department.
A new window will open. In the section Personal Identification click on the button Add existing ORCID ID.
A field to enter the ID number will be displayed; copy and paste your ORCID ID in the field.
Click on Check to verify that your identifier has been entered correctly and is being recognised. To save the data, click on the Apply and then on the Save button.
Ability to add ORCID IDs to Pure was introduced in Pure in February 2014. Currently, IDs can be recorded in Pure but are not displayed on the website. Also, at the moment, ORCID IDs cannot be used to import publications from online sources to Pure; this is because the data on IDs are not made available via APIs used for data import.
