Logging on to Pure
You can log on to Pure (https://pure.rhul.ac.uk/admin/) by using your usual College username and password.
The first time you log on Pure, a Welcome screen will be displayed. Choose the frequency with which you want to receive emails from Pure and click Continue. You can change this preference later at any time.
Once you have logged on, you will be taken to the personal overview screen in Pure from which you can do different tasks, such as adding items to Pure and editing your web profile.
Roles in Pure
Exactly what you see when logged into Pure is determined by the roles allocated to you in the system. Most users will have only a 'Personal' menu tab, allowing them to enter and edit content related to their own research activities.
If you have the right to edit departmental or research group content then you will also have an 'Editor' menu tab giving you access to additional content. Roles can easily be assigned or changed in Pure, so if the initial configuration is not what you expect or need, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
All members of staff in research-related posts should automatically have Pure accounts set up for them. Pure accounts are also provided to all postgraduate research students. For all other members of academic staff (such as teaching fellows), Pure accounts may be requested by contacting email@example.com.
Pure is designed to maintain an ongoing historic record of research activity at Royal Holloway. This means that data about members of staff and their research outputs, projects and activities will be retained in Pure after they have left the College, and the same applies to the postgraduate research students. Anyone who wishes may extract a copy of their data from Pure before they leave the College.
