We are pleased to showcase the newest cohort of the Picture Gallery Composer-in-Residence Programme, presenting new music inspired by our beautiful Picture Gallery and its collection. Curated by composer Nathan James Dearden and College Curator Imogen Tedbury, we are thrilled to showcase two of the six successful applicants and their new works written especially for the applauded Choir of Royal Holloway, under the guidance of their conductor Rupert Gough.
This year the composers have been tasked to compose part-songs incorporating commissioned poetry by Prof. Robert Fraser, prose specifically written for individual paintings in our gallery.
The Picture Gallery will be open for public open hours 10am-3pm, so come early or stay behind to have a closer look at the pictorial inspiration for the new music.
This event is part of the Choir of Royal Holloway's Midweek Music Series.
