International Concert Series 2022-23

For 2022-23 we are bringing back our Jazz Session series, and we are thrilled to announce that naia are returning to Royal Holloway. Formed during their studies at the College, naia are described as one of the "most electrifying bands arriving onto the scene" and blend jazz with elements of funk and latin.

About the performers

With high-energy, smile-inducing live performances that leave crowds euphoric, Naia are one of the most electrifying bands arriving onto the scene. While maintaining roots in jazz, Naia continue to breathe fresh air into the genre through their distinctive sound, blending in elements of funk and Latin music to consistently pull audiences to their feet. Naia’s music is shaped by their many influences, with members hailing from the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the UK. Based in London, Naia have headlined some of the city’s most esteemed grassroots venues, such as Vortex Jazz Club, Brixton Hootananny, Paper Dress Vintage and Mau Mau Bar. Described by Triple J as “one of those beautiful blends of Latin, funk and soul,” Naia’s live performances draw in crowds from the streets, captivate your soul and will have you dancing into the night.
