The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics, Politics and International Relations, and Philosophy. The Department of Law and Criminology is looking to hire on a permanent basis three more colleagues to join our team:

  1. lecturer in law;
  2. Another lecturer in law (teaching focussed);
  3. senior lecturer in criminology;
  4. A professor of criminology

For the position or lecturer in taw (teaching and research), we are particularly looking for candidates with teaching expertise in contract law, but we are also keen to develop our teaching portfolio in Commercial Law and Company Law. For the teaching focussed position, we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise in Property Law to include Land Law and the Law of Trusts. Each of the positions include teaching undergraduate core subjects.

For the position of SL in criminology, we are particularly interested in candidates with teaching expertise in the psychology of terrorism and/or the policing of terrorism. For the position of professor in criminology, we are looking for someone who would make a distinctive research contribution and provide effective academic leadership.

For the research-focused position, we would like to hear from candidates whose research is aligned to the College’s research catalysts (Living Sustainably, Transformative Digital Technologies, Security and Society and Digital Futures in the Creative and Cultural Industries). 

The positions are available from December 2022 - January 2023 or soon thereafter. The deadline for applications is 14 October 2022.
