A team of Royal Holloway undergraduate students has come second in a 24 hour hackathon challenge to reduce homelessness using the power of technology. Congratulations to Sam Burchell, Nofal Naveed, Shaurya Puri and Harjot Matt, who created a working social network web application whereby a homeless person can connect back into society using their own digital footprint. By providing their stories, background and skills, employers and charities can reach out to the homeless regarding opportunities, allowing them to work their way back into society.

The challenge was proposed by Crisis, a charity tackling homelessness, and required students to use technologies provided by Cisco.
