Our research

Ranked sixth out 82 UK psychology departments in REF 2014

Principal investigators and their research groups benefit from state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive, thriving environment for conducting research, including regular Keynote Seminars. Research in the department falls broadly into the following groupings:

Research in the Health and Well-Being (HWA) Group conducts basic and applied psychological research in clinical and health psychology.

Research in the Language, Memory and Attention (LMA) Group is focused on understanding various aspects of cognition.

Research in the Perception, Action and Decision-making (PAD) Group is focused on the study of sensation, perception, cognition and motor behaviour.

Research in the Social and Affective Processes (SAP) Group is focused on investigating cognitive and emotional processes in inter-group, intra-group, and individual contexts.
