2008 - 2014

  • 2014 Teaching staff of PS2010 - College Team Teaching Prize 

Our second year course in ‘Psychological Research Methods and Analysis’ was recognised through a College Team Teaching Prize awarded to the course staff, led by Dr Victoria Bourne and including Dr Alana James, Dr Carolyn McGettigan, Dr Rebecca Lucas, Danijela Serbic, Trevor James and Katie Whiteside.

  • 2014 Dr Dawn Watling - College Excellence Teaching Prize

The department’s personalised academic and pastoral support was highlighted through a College Excellence Teaching Prize to Dr Dawn Watling.

  • 2014 Dr Alana James - College Excellence Teaching Prize 

A successful new peer mentoring scheme developed by Dr Alana James was selected for a College Excellence Teaching Prize.

  • 2014 Prof Tamar Pincus and Dr Anat Bardi

Our newly-developed package of postgraduate training options was recognised through College teaching commendations for Professor Tamar Pincus and Dr Anat Bardi.

Apple for the Teacher Awards exist to recognize excellence in teaching as well as providing students with a chance to commend and thank those academic and administrative staff who they feel have had a positive effect on you whilst here at Royal Holloway.

  • 2013 Ms Danijela Serbic - Postgraduate Tutor Prize, RHUL

‘Teaching of Research Methods and Analysis for Psychology on first and second year courses (PS1010 and PS2010).’ Ms Serbic adapted her teaching methods well to an evolving curriculum, and feedback on her teaching was very positive.

‘Training future teachers and inspiring new learners: Creating access to the human brain’

Professor Ramnani’s project gives students a genuine and important insight into the reality of the subject matter they are learning.

  • 2013 Dr Szonya Durant - Commendation for Excellence in Teaching, RHUL
‘Introducing new course units with linked work placements in industry’ 

Dr Durant’s project has a high impact for developing the employment prospects of the students involved.

'Developing PS1010: Introduction to Psychological Research'. A large part of the submission was based on the introduction and development of Moodle, an online learning suite, particularly the use of weekly online quizzes.

  • 2012 Prof Patrick Leman - Apple for the Teacher, Student Union, RHUL
  • 2011 Dr Courtenay Norbury - College Teaching Prize, RHUL

Award for the third year course on Developmental Disorders. The awards committee noted that the activities included on the course greatly enhanced inclusivity and interactions between students, that clear and constructive feedback was provided to students and that there were direct connections with student employability.
