We are delighted to announce that the Department of Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway, University of London, has been ranked 15th best in the recent Sunday Times University League Table (October 2012), out of 75 institutions offering the discipline.

In the rankings, which takes into account feedback from students, the department scored particularly highly in the area of teaching excellence, demonstrating its staff's commitment to providing a strong learning experience through cutting-edge research-led teaching.

Dr Nathan Widder, Head of Department, said, "This continues a strong upward trend for a department that was formed only in 2004 and that has been built through the appointment of early and mid-career scholars. The vibrancy of our department has clearly been appreciated by our students and our peers at other institutions, and this is now feeding through into our rankings."
