With the recent influx of new members of staff, the Department is pleased to announce that it has begun development of a new Single Honours Programme in International Relations. This programme will take advantage of the immense diversity of our international relations team, whose expertise encompasses cutting-edge study of conflict and post-conflict reconstruction, new human security challenges, international political economy, globalisation and the emergence of global governance institutions, new forms of communication and political resistance, and areas of regional expertise that include the US, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Far East, and South Asia. Our programme will give students the opportunity to engage critically in the new challenges to governance, security, and established power relations that have followed from these many rapid developments.
Details of this degree will be available on our website as it goes through validation in late 2012. It is expected that the degree will include a new first year course on the Global South and second year courses on topics such as International Institutions, Foreign Policy and War Strategy.
The programme is now listed on UCAS under the code LF50.
