Event on the 150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

Posted on 18/11/2013

Update: this event is now available as a podcast, here

Tuesday November 19, 2013 will mark the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, one of the most significant speeches in American—and democratic—political history. To celebrate the Address, the seminar will feature two talks, one by a historian (Dr Stephen Robinson) on the legacy of Gettysburg, and one by a political scientist (our very own Dr Michael Williams) on contemporary divisions in U.S. politics.
The seminar will begin at 5.30 pm in the Main Lecture Theatre and will finish at 7.00 pm. There will then be wine and refreshments in the Department of Politics & International Relations (the corridor above the Main Lecture Theatre). We hope many of you will be able to join us.
