The Royal Holloway neutrino group studies neutrino oscillation at the T2K experiment in Japan, which uses enormous detectors to study extremely tiny and ghostly neutrinos.
On T2K, we are involved directly with neutrino oscillation searches for CP violation, looking at whether matter and antimatter behave differently, and have made the current world-leading constraint on CP violation in neutrinos. We are also involved in future experiments beyond T2K, looking at how we can make even better measurements of CP violation. To do this, we are building a gaseous neutrino detector with optical readout, similar to the Royal Holloway Dark Matter Group's DMTPC.
