Professor Blair to join STFC as Executive Director Programmes

Professor Grahame Blair, Head of the Department of Physics has been announced as the new Executive Director, Programmes for The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

Professor Blair will be a member of the STFC Executive Board and, along with other Executive Directorates, will contribute to decision-making across STFC.  He will work to support a world-class research programme and ensure UK access to international facilities. He will formally start on 1 October 2012 but will be part time until 1 January 2013, to complete his hand over of responsibilities at the College.

Professor Blair said: “My time at Royal Holloway has been fantastic, with great support for fundamental research from the College and from STFC.  The College’s department of Physics continues to grow from strength to strength and I look forward to its significant contributions to STFC science, which I am now privileged to serve as Executive Director, Programmes.”
