STFC Theoretical Particle Physics grant awarded

Posted on 12/10/2017

Dr Nikolas Kauer has been awarded £113,263 from the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) for the project entitled: 'South-Eastern Particle Theory Alliance Sussex-RHUL-UCL 2017-2020, RHUL Node’. The award includes £62,248 for a project studentship, one of only two awarded in this Theory grants round with 186 bidding academics.

Dr Kauer comments: 'I'm delighted to renew our partnership with the Theoretical Particle Physics Group at the University of Sussex, which has recently been expanded to include Dr Deppisch at University College London. The collaboration will benefit from our expertise in collider phenomenology, which complements the expertise at Sussex. Our goal is to contribute to the full exploitation of the Large Hadron Collider physics potential with Standard Model precision predictions and improved methods for Beyond-Standard Model searches.'
