There are lots of options for you, both on and off campus so you can find a place that’s ideal for every stage of your studies. You can take a look at some of our on-campus accommodation options below.

All new undergraduate students who firmly accept their offer to study at Royal Holloway and apply for accommodation before our deadlines are guaranteed a place in halls.

Royal Holloway is ideally placed for travelling to and from if you live in the south east of England and we provide plenty of support and opportunities to help make commuting to university an alternative to living in student accommodation. We've established a number of 'Commuter hubs' for you to study, socialise and eat when you visit campus, and our library is open 24/7. If you decide you would like to occasionally stay overnight, rooms are available on campus at The Hub. You can hear from one of our commuting students, Naveen, in the video below.

University is packed full of exciting opportunities and new adventures to be had, but it can also be quite daunting, especially if you’re moving away from home for the first time. Sports and an active lifestyle

Keeping active is easy at Royal Holloway with our on-campus sports centre and extensive range of clubs and recreational sport opportunities. One of our sporting highlights of the year is competing against other universities for the Varsity cup, as you can see in the video above. We've got all the traditional sports teams that you'd expect, from men's and women's football, rugby, netball and hockey, to Waterski, Eton Fives and Motorsport. 

Along with 40 competitive sports clubs, we also offer a recreational sports programme, Active, where you can drop in across a number of sports or join an on-campus social league. If sports aren’t your thing, but you still want to keep fit and healthy, you can make use of our 60- station gym or join one of our group exercise classes, such as Zumba, Yoga or Spinning.

Societies

Want to have a go at acapella singing? Or writing for a student magazine? Or debating? Or maybe you want to speak up for human rights through Amnesty International? Our Students' Union runs more than 100 different clubs and societies including our own book club and gospel choir. We even have an App Society for entrepreneurial students keen to develop the latest must-have mobile software. So take your pick and meet others who share your passion - you can even set up a brand new society if nothing takes your interest!

University is so much more than just studying, and our active Students’ Union (SU) is here to ensure you have the best possible time whilst at Royal Holloway.

Our Students' Union organises a great array of social events throughout the year, from a Freshers’ Festival and annual Summer Ball, to puppy therapy sessions and a weekly food market.

We firmly believe that university is for you, that it can be and should be for anyone who has a drive and ambition to learn. Our courses will provide you with an amazing first step on your university journey, packed full of skills to empower you and build your confidence in academic studies at university level. You’ll join a friendly and welcoming community of staff and students, passionate about learning and about helping you fulfil your ambitions. The courses are available to UK students and students from the EU who meet the English language requirements.

Scholarships and bursaries

Our huge range of scholarships and bursaries will help remove some of the financial stress of coming to university.

“When I first received the scholarship, I was in shock. It wasn’t until a day or two later that I spoke to my mates and said ‘Wait, I’ve just got a scholarship’. This scholarship is helping me to stay focused and engaged with my Computer Science course, because I have to maintain at least a 2:1 to keep it! Having the scholarship has been a massive confidence boost and a constant reminder that if I apply myself there’s nothing I can’t do.”
