From 17th to 19th April 2013, the Music Department hosted the second meeting of the collaborative research network Musical-Cultural Exchange in Early Modern Europe, 1550-1750. Funded by the Swedish Foundation for International Co-Operation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), this network connects Royal Holloway with the Musicology Department of Uppsala University and the Bach-Archiv Leipzig. It allows PhD students at Royal Holloway to work with participants from the partner institutions, including such scholars as Dr Lars Berglund and Dr Peter Wollny. The April meeting included round-table sessions on ‘Infrastructure of Exchange’, ‘Collectors and Collecting’ and ‘Analysing 17th-Century Music’. For further details on the network contact Stephen Rose.
