Masters student Harmony Chen wins singing prize

Posted on 23/05/2013

Harmony Chen, one of our Masters students, has earned a Silver Medal in the 'Song Recital' category at the North London Festival of Music's 2013 competition. Harmony's winning programme included solos from Handel's Messiah, Die Zufriedenheit by Mozart and Donizetti's 'O luce di q'uest anima' from Linda di Chamounix.

Harmony's performance was commended for its 'sophisticated singing with lovely clarity' and adjudicators praise her for her 'pure, clear soprano voice.' A native of Hong Kong, she intends to pursue a singing career upon graduation from the Music Department's Master's programme, and is currently looking at opera and chorus training programmes around the world.
