Head of Department Shipwrecked on Insanity Radio

Posted on 06/12/2017
Julie Brown 2012

Professor Julie Brown

Julie Brown will be on Insanity Radio at 3-4pm Wednesday 6th December, on Father John Dickson’s programme ‘Shipwrecked’. What pieces will she choose to have with her if she were shipwrecked, and why?

You can listen to Insanity Radio here: https://insanityradio.com/ and the website also features selected catch up features.

Professor Brown's latest book (co-edited with Nicholas Cook and Stephen Cottrell) — Defining the Discographic Self: Desert Island Discs in Context (Oxford University Press, 2017) — was published last week.  She also gave her inaugural professorial lecture last week. The title was ‘Multiplying musicians, mysterious gramophones, mute chattering actors: listening to "silent films"', and the event saw many eminent former members of Royal Holloway's Music Department return to pay tribute to Professor Brown's career.
