Brian Lock’s Music for Flute, iPad and Birds to première in New York

Working at the cutting-edge of technological application in composition Brian Lock’s new piece, scored for flute, iPad and birdsong, makes use of open sound control technology and new live composition apps which Brian has written for the iPad. The piece will receive its world première in March at the Ithaca Conservatory in New York and then be performed again later in the same week in New York City. Brian will perform on the iPad and the flute will be played by one of the UK’s leading flutists and professor of flute at the Royal College of Music – Susan Milan. Other pieces of media music incorporating these technological developments have recently been recorded with members of the Czech Philharmonic in Prague and will be released on Universal.
