'Woyzeck' by Georg Büchner

4-6 March 2013

'Woyzeck' is the final work written by one of the most important and influential German playwrights of the nineteenth century, Georg Büchner (1813-1837), who died aged only 23 before completing the play. Despite existing only as a fragment, the play has come to be recognized as seminal. It is a radical psychological and moral study of a man who is driven to murder his lover, anticipating in both its themes and its naturalistic language many of the key features of 'modern' theatre. Both shocking and thrilling, this is not be missed!
