GM2009 German Language II

Terms 1 and 2

Convenor: Dr Anja Peters

Oral Examination: 50%, Written Examination 50%

GM2009 is a core language course for Year 2 students on the post A-Level pathway. The course consists of three components: 1. Grammar & Business German, 2. Comprehension, 3. Oral. In the German & Business German component we will work on complex sentences and structures, and students will be prepared for their Year Abroad in a German-speaking work or university environment. In the comprehension component you will read and work with topical texts from German newspapers and magazines, as well as learn to write summaries of these texts and short essays on controversial topics. The weekly oral sessions are designed to give you the opportunity to improve your fluency in spoken German.
