'Woyzeck' is the final work written by one of the most important and influential German playwrights of the nineteenth century, Georg Büchner (1813-1837), who died aged only 23 before completing the play. Despite existing only as a fragment, the play has come to be recognized as seminal. The play is a radical psychological and moral study of a man who is driven to murder his lover, anticipating in both its themes and its naturalistic language many of the key features of 'modern' theatre. Not be missed!
