Graduate profiles

Media Arts Alumni go on to a wide range of careers, from organisers of major international film festivals to commissioners at broadcasters, musicians, PR and communications, teaching, making documentary films, animation, VFX, and more. Students have worked as researchers in the House of Lords, presented a wide range of television programmes, and even won BAFTAs - including most recently, Georgina Campell’s performance in Murdered by my Boyfriend (2015). You can read more about some of your individual Alumni in the profile below, read about events that reconnect Alumni with current students or find out more about some of our graduates in the public eye click here.

Alumni Evening - Autumn 2016

Alumni Evening
Each year we have 2-3 Alumni evenings where former students return to the department to talk about their first jobs, give advice on how to break into a range of careers and reflect on their time at Royal Holloway. In the Autumn term we focus on creative careers, including special sessions with high profile Alumni such as Elliot Gleave, whilst in Spring we focus on broader horizons that take students beyond the creative industries. Alumni Evening 3

This Autumn 2016 we invited back 4 Alumni who are working across a wide range of roles in the creative industries. @thatkateburns talked about how to make it in the world of freelancing, working in a range of jobs in television since her graduation in 2015. @howdyhowsam discussed CGI and visual effects and the joy of working on huge projects with VFX experts Motion Picture Graphics (MPC). Vickie Admirals of @TheVinylFactory  who graduated in 2011, talked about life heading up a music label and being a creative manager at one of the most exciting and innovative music and arts enterprises. @scarlatlidia told us about returning to Europe and working in the exciting world of Motion Graphics - even giving current students the opportunity to work with her.
