Media Arts careers

Royal Holloway’s Media Arts graduates are uniquely equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to enter an extremely competitive job market.

We’re in the top three for career prospects among our main competitors and in the top 20% for graduate prospects in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014). A degree in Media Arts gives students a range of valuable transferable skills, thereby lending itself to roles in a diverse range of industries, both directly and indirectly related.

Recent graduates are now working as directors or producers, in marketing, in broadcasting, as TV camera operators, researchers and authors. Employers include the BBC, Left Bank Pictures, Duke of York’s Theatre, Christian Dior, Apple, Momentum Pictures, ITV and Warner Brothers.

Here are a few examples of the jobs our students have gone into, immediately after graduating:

  • TV/radio programme researcher
  • multimedia specialist
  • media planner
  • runner (TV/Film)
  • public relations
  • visual arts.

Look at our  graduate profiles for more detailed accounts of how gaining a Media Arts degree at Royal Holloway has helped shape the careers of some of our students.
