Keith Buckman - Head of Production Facility
I am responsible for running the technical support services in the department’s Media Arts Centre. I have been managing audio-visual services in higher education since the mid-eighties and have contributed to the development and delivery of a number of courses in a range of academic disciplines in which creative and technical skills enhance professional practice. I studied part-time for an MA in Film & Television Studies at the University of Westminster, during which time I developed a research interest in British documentary film history of the 1930s and 1940s.
Since joining Royal Holloway’s Department of Media Arts in 2002, I have led a number of substantial development projects, including the £½M refurbishment of the Media Arts Centre in 2004 and, more recently, capital equipment funding initiatives that have enabled us to provide a robust technical infrastructure for the department.
I enjoy writing, performing, recording and producing music, have worked as a volunteer tutor for a youth music group and continue to play in various bands and songwriting duos.
