James Davis - Facilities Technician

As Facilities Technician, I am primarily responsible for managing and maintaining the location production equipment store and advising students on the use and applications of the various filming, photgraphic and sound recording equipment in the Media Arts department.

I trained on the MA Filmmaking programme at the London International Film School and in addition to my role as a technician at Royal Holloway, I am currently studying on the MA Screenwriting for Film and Television (MASTFiR) programme. I have written and directed numerous short films, both fiction and documentary and I continue to make shorts alongside writing my first feature.

I am proficient with digital formats and post-production tools including, Final Cut Pro (in which I am Apple Certified), Avid and Protools, which I approach as an extension of the taught disciplines of shooting 35mm and splicing on the Steinbeck.
