Content

The course aims to enable students to appreciate the imaginative and creative challenge posed by the creation of contemporary artworks. It will provide the opportunity for students to produce works which are experimental in nature in which they explore their own creativity. Students will gain an understanding of the processes and techniques employed in the creation of contemporary works of art using, amongst other things, digital technology. The course will encourage a very broad imaginative approach to artistic research and creativity and covers a wide range of experimental and avant-garde arts and media practices. Students will combine existing art forms within video and multi-media environments. Individual works of art will be created either in the video studio, digitally or combinations of the two. Students will be required to conduct in-depth research and write critical evaluations on their own work.

Assessment

Students must attend at least 70% of the course in each term and present a Practical project including production paper and research Portfolio.
