MA3006 Producing Film and TV

This course is concerned with developing practical and conceptual skills associated with producing and researching programmes. The course includes aesthetic decisions, resource implications and all roles and procedures related to television production. The unit deconstructs a television drama in terms of its budgeting and scheduling and explores coproduction, music copyright and contractual matters in some depth.


A budget, schedule and cashflow for a script provided to the student. During the first term the students will attach themselves to a student production as Producer. During the second term they will write a production paper on the work they have done on the production.
