The course aims to enable students to appreciate the imaginative and creative challenges posed by the creation of contemporary artworks, and encourages a very broad imaginative approach to artistic research and creativity.

Students will be able to produce works which are experimental in nature in which they explore their creativity and are able to communicate the concepts behind their experiments. This unit will expose students to a wide variety of 20th Century artistic practice and will experiment with several disciplines and forms during the course. Students will work in groups to create individualised works of art either in the video studio, digitally or combinations of the two. They will be required to conduct in-depth artistic research and write self-critical essays.  Students will undertake courses and projects in both the studio and in Adobe Dreamweaver, the web development application.
