Prof. Christopher Nobes

Professor Christopher Nobes is a joint winner of the 2011 Abacus Manuscript Award for his paper entitled “IFRS Practices and the Persistence of Accounting System Classification”. The winners, determined by an expert panel of academics and practitioners, were announced recently.

The other winners were Audrey Wen-Hsin Hsu, John O’Hanlon and Ken Peasnell for their paper “Financial Distress and the Earnings-Sensitivity-Difference Measure of Conservatism” and Irene Karamanou for her paper “On the Determinants of Optimism in Financial Analyst Earnings Forecasts: The Effect of the Market's Ability to Adjust for the Bias”.
