Alan Pilkington IEEE seminar 2010

Dr Alan Pilkington

Dr Alan Pilkington recently gave a seminar to the IEEE Technology Management Chapter in conjunction with Westminster Business School on the uses and limitations of bibliometrics. Dr Alan Pilkington (pictured) is the current Chair of the Chapter and in the seminar he described some tools which make the analysis of patent and literature citation data easily accessible. The talk used examples to show how bibliometrics can be used to plot the emergence of themes and technologies, as well as describing the landscape of an area. A copy of the presentation slides are on the IEEE TMC web site here: http://ewh.ieee.org/r8/ukri/em_pc/ (which can also be used to find out more information on the group).

More information on Dr Pilkington’s work on bibliometrics and enterprise engineering can be found at: http://personal.rhul.ac.uk/uhtm/001/homepage.html
