Professorial salary in the range of £58,358 – £100,526 inclusive of London Allowance, dependent on assessment through the College’s professorial pay banding scheme. Lecturer salary in the range of £38,996 – £46,150 inclusive of London Allowance.
Professor of Strategy or International Business:
We would welcome applicants working in any areas within this field, but especially in international strategy, and those researching international, comparative and critical approaches to management.
Professor of Organisation Studies:
We would welcome applicants working in any areas within this field, but especially in work and employment, leadership, organisational psychology, organisational change and public management.
Lecturer in Accounting:
We would welcome applicants working in any area within this field but especially in management accounting.
For Chair level appointments a PhD is essential; applicants must be able to demonstrate an international capability in research leadership and grant getting as well as provide evidence of being able to deliver high quality teaching.
About the School of Management
Royal Holloway, University of London is a “truly world class” university. It was recently ranked 88th in the 2010–11 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and 13th overall in the UK. The School of Management was placed in the top 20 in RAE2008, with 95% of research being rated international and 55% in the top two categories.
The School has major strengths in international and comparative approaches to business and management. It has grown organically from its inception in the early 1990s to its current establishment of about 70 academic staff. The School has a general policy of appointing staff who are research active and is proud of its integrated and inclusive culture. Its strategy over the next three years is to continue to grow, especially at postgraduate and executive levels, requiring further increases in staffing to support research-led teaching.
The professorial posts represent a substantial investment in academic leadership, directed at sustaining steady expansion and supporting research and teaching excellence. The appointments will be made to academic fields in which the School has already achieved a reputation for international excellence, namely in strategy, international business and organisation studies. We are looking to reinforce these strengths with colleagues who can contribute to high quality research and teaching and further enhance our international standing.
From August the School of Management will be located in a newly formed Faculty of Management and Economics, a strategic move which represents a major material and symbolic investment in the field, and it is the intention to grow both departments over the next few years.
