During May, a School of Management academic, Dr. Isabella Chaney, participated in the week long HKSPACE accreditation exercise on behalf of Royal Holloway. The accreditation was undertaken by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications for collaborative programmes involving a HK operator and a non-local operator jointly operating a programme of learning in HK which then leads to a qualification awarded by the non-local operator. The benefits of the accreditation is that Government financial assistance would be available to post-secondary students and this should lead to increased enrolments on the RH programmes. The initial feedback was very positive.
While in Hong Kong Isabella attended the MBA SPACE Alumni Annual General Meeting and Dinner. About fifty alumni were at the event and Isabella presented plaques to the outgoing committee members. The alumni is very active with several social and professional activities throughout the year. In conversations with the alumni it was evident that achieving an MBA had been of major benefit both personally and professionally.
