Entrepreneurs - Battle of the Hoteliers

Posted on 28/01/2010

Tej Dhillon

Honorary Fellow, Surinder Arora and our alumnus, Tej Dhillon, (BSc Geography, 1987), two of the country’s top Asian entrepreneurs, came back to Royal Holloway to share the stage and be interviewed by Jack Lenox, student and President of Royal Holloway Entrepreneurs. (28/01/10)

They shared their experience of what they think makes a good entrepreneur; highs and lows from their careers and their ambitions for the future. Surinder Arora is Chairman of his own hotel chain, Arora International, which runs hotels at Heathrow and Gatwick and in Manchester. Tej Dhillon is Managing Director of the Dhillon Hotel Group, a chain of six individual hotels which he owns with his sister. The Dhillons own the Grade II listed Victorian Gothic-style Paragon Hotel in the centre of Birmingham, which has 250 rooms and the Liongate Hotel in Hampton Court amongst others. Students and alumni had plenty of questions in a Q&A session which was followed by a drinks reception.
