Alumna Sally Dawson dies at 39

We are very sorry to have been informed that Sally Dawson has died at the age of 39. Sally died on Oct. 18 at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, according to her father, Jim Dawson. The cause was metastatic breast cancer, which was diagnosed early this year.

In a 17-year career at Deutsche Bank, beginning soon after her graduation from Royal Holloway University of London, Sally rose to Director in fixed-income sales. She worked with asset managers and pension funds.  

“In a statement, Deutsche Bank said, “We are deeply saddened by Sally’s death, and our thoughts are with her family at this time.”

Sally Hazel Dawson was born on Sept. 14, 1974, in Ascot.

Career Path

Sally studied Management and Economics at Royal Holloway University and joined Deutsche Bank after working a few months for Royal Bank of Canada. Sally was an accomplished tennis player and ran the London Marathon in 2006, She enjoyed the opera and ballet and was a supporter of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

A public memorial service for friends and colleagues will be held on 12 November at 4 p.m. at St. Luke’s Church in Chelsea
