Shoah Archive - I am not a member of Royal Holloway. How can I access the Shoah Archive?

Question:
Shoah Archive - I am not a member of Royal Holloway. How can I access the Shoah Archive?
Answer:

All members of the public are welcome to consult the USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive on-site in the Bedford Library on the Royal Holloway campus.

Access is available from Monday to Friday, between 9am to 5pm. When you arrive, please speak to a member of staff at the Enquiry Desk, who will log you into a PC, set up your access account and help you use the service.

Some videos have to be uploaded by the main site in the US and it can take up to a maximum of 48 hours before they are available. Therefore, please send details of any testimonies you would like to watch via email to library@rhul.ac.uk at least two days prior to your visit, in case we need to order them to be uploaded.

You can find details of testimonies in advance at the Visual History Archive catalogue (please note: this site will only provide limited access to the testimonies themselves).

Please see College's website for directions to the Royal Holloway campus. You can see the location of Bedford Library on the Campus plan.

Please email library@rhul.ac.uk to let us know in advance when you are likely to arrive, so we can ensure a member of staff is available to assist you. You will be using one of the public PCs in the Bedford Library subject to availability, so it is generally advisable to come earlier in the day, when there are more PCs available.

You will need to bring a set of headphones with you to listen to the testimonies, as you will not be able to use PC speakers and we do not have headphones to loan out.

If you need to arrange car parking on campus, please let us know, including the details of your car.
