Maintaining a pleasant study environment in the Founder's and Bedford Libraries

Posted on 17/04/2012

As the libraries are getting busier, please spare a thought for fellow students and help us maintain an environment that allows everybody to study effectively:

Founder’s Library

To help us maintain a pleasant study environment for all, we ask you to:

  • Study silently in the reading rooms on the First Floor.
  • Use mobile phones in corridors and stairwells only.
  • Avoid talking loudly in the stairwell, as noise may carry to silent study areas.
  • Do not leave items on study tables for longer than 20 minutes (these may be removed by library staff).
  • Limit the unnecessary use of social media on Library PCs.
  • Put litter in the bins provided.

Bedford Library

To help us maintain a pleasant study environment for all, we ask you to:

  • Study silently on level 3 and quietly on level 1.
  • Use mobile phones on Level 2 only.

Space to Study

Across campus additional study spaces have been made available. Please have a look at the Space to Study posters for details or check:
