Office 365 Email - Can I configure my BlackBerry mobile phone?

Royal Holloway supports Blackberry devices for email only. We do not support additional functionality i.e. Calendars.

If you have a personally-owned Blackberry

Note: that these instructions provide e-mail only; contacts, calendars and other items can not be synced. 

These instructions will vary from device to device; for more details on setting up IMAP accounts, please visit this page.

Open Setup > Email Accounts 


 Choose to Set up another e-mail account


 Select Other (or, if you have the option at this stage, IMAP)


Type in your full e-mail address and password.  It should fail the first time and give you an option called I will provide the settings.  However, on some devices you will instead get a message saying:

Update failed

You will need to deliberately spell the second half of your e-mail address incorrectly so you can get the I will provide the settings option.  For example, type "firstname.lastname@rhul" without the ".ac.uk" on the end.


You should now be able to put more settings in.   Ensure IMAP is selected, and follow the below instructions. Make sure to correct your email address if you had to put that in incorrectly in the previous step.  If more details are needed, you can find them at this page.
