iPad - How do I order a Staff iPad?

iPad - How do I order a Staff iPad?
Answer:

Send your request to the IT Service Desk for the attention of the Admin team.

Please include the following details:

Model required    :  e.g. iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi 16GB  £278.88 +VAT  (August 2016)
                                         iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi 64GB  £340.52 +VAT  (August 2016)
3/4g SIM?             :     Yes/No ( incurs extra monthly charge)
Cover?                   :    Yes/No  cover cost is a further £22 + VAT 
Cost code              :    your department cost code

The Desktop Support team will contact you (via the help desk call) when it arrives to arrange collection.  

Once the ipad has been received the Desktop Support team will record the serial no and apply an asset tag, and by way of initial configuration assist with the following -

  • turn iPad on and connect to CampusNet
  • register it to the customer's Apple account
  • configure Royal Holloway email
  • make sure a passcode is set

You can then configure further for example by obtaining applications via the App Store ios7appstore-icon
