Redirection due to unusual network activity - Why is this happening?

Question:
Redirection due to unusual network activity - Why is this happening?
Answer:

Our service provider has detected unusual activity coming from your computer on the CampusNet network. Your access to CampusNet has been disabled to protect other users.

To get your computer running on the network again you will need to ensure that it is completely free of viruses and malware and have this verified by IT Services.  We will need a copy of the scan logs so we can see that it has been cleaned of infection.

You can download a free copy of anti-virus software to a memory stick or CD from a PC lab and install it on to your PC.  Run a full scan and save the log of the results. Please follow this link for our Web Safty and Anti-Virus information.

You may also find it useful to download and run a trial version of a program called Malwarebytes from here.

Alternatively you could take your laptop to the Bedford Library Mon-Fri 12:00-16:00 (see link to current opening times here) to get a full scan performed and free anti-virus protection installed.  Please arrange for whoever checks your machine to contact us when this is done so we can check the logs.

Kind Regards
IT Services
