Restore deleted files and folders on the (Y:) drive - how do I do this?

Question:
Restore deleted files and folders on the (Y:) drive - how do I do this?
Answer:

You can easily restore a file or folder that has been deleted from your (Y:) drive within the last 7 days.

To do this:

  1. Display My Computer (Computer on Windows 7) by double-clicking on it on the Desktop or Start menu.
  2. Right-click on your (Y:) drive [HOME (\\ MYDATA) (Y:)] and select Properties to display the Properties dialogue box.
  3. Select the Previous Versions tab to display a list of available dates/times that can be restored.
  4. Double-click on the date/time that (you believe) contains the file or folder you wish to restore.  A new window will display showing all of the files and folders on your (Y:) drive at that time.
  5. Navigate to the file or folder you wish to restore.
  6. Double-click on the file that you wish to restore. The file will open in the application (e.g. Word) in which it was created.
  7. Once you have confirmed that it is the file you wish to restore save the file to (Y:) drive in the normal way.
Note:  To ensure you do not accidentally overwrite the existing file you are strongly recommended to save the file with a different filename.
