Revert - How do I revert to a previous version of a web page?

Question:
Revert - How do I revert to a previous version of a web page?
Answer:

Contensis supports multiple version control. Every time a page is published it becomes a new version, but the previous versions are still available.

The version no. of the latest (current Edit Version) can be seen in the top right of the screen.

You can never edit a previous version; however you can revert to a previous version.

To see previous versions:

  • Click on the Version History tab

     versionHistoryTab

The following information for every version will be shown:

  • Version no
  • Date created
  • Current live or current edit version (where applicable)

From the list on the left hand side

  • Select the version that you wish to Revert to
  • Click on the Revert icon

The Revert confirmation screen open

sconfirmationPopUp

  • Click on the Yes button

This will create a new version (with the next sequential version number being displayed when the screen refreshes).

This version will be a copy of the selected previous version, but this new version will now be editable and could be sent for authorisation.
