The Health Foundation has launched its new £4 million funding programme: Closing the Gap in Patient Safety, which aims to make improvements in safety by tackling known gaps between best practice and current delivery of care.
Closing the Gap in Patient Safety is open to applicants from across the UK. To be eligible project teams must include a provider of NHS services or a private or voluntary sector organisation delivering NHS services free at the point of delivery.
Types of project could include (but are not limited to):
- approaches to build skills in improving patient safety
- interventions to improve reliability of clinical care
- creating the conditions for the delivery of safer care.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong track record in designing, delivering and evaluating improvement projects. The closing date for applications is 23 September 2013.
