Royal Holloway leads the way in replacing animals to research Bipolar disorder

Researchers from the School of Biological Sciences at Royal Holloway are working to further understand and treat Bipolar disorder while reducing the need for animal testing. Dr Robin Williams and his team will instead be using single amoeba, which are non-animal cells grown in a laboratory, to discover new ways of studying the disorder and discover better treatments with fewer side effects.
