Honorary Degree Ceremony and STARS Awards take place this Wednesday 28 November 2012 in the Windsor Building Auditorium at 5.45pm for 6pm followed by a Reception in the Windsor Building Foyer.

Honorary Doctorate 2012: Sir Steven Redgrave CBE

Five-time Olympic Gold Medallist, Sir Steve Redgrave is Britain’s greatest Olympian and one of the greatest Olympians the world has ever seen. He was awarded the CBE in 1997 and a Knighthood in 2001. Sir Steve has raised over £7 million through his charitable initiative, the Steve Redgrave Fund, which aims to enhance the quality of young people’s lives. He played an integral role in the successful London 2012 Olympic bid. Sir Steve will be awarded an Honorary degree at the STARS awards ceremony.

STARS Awards

An annual presentation evening recognising elite student athletes at the College. The Student Talented Athlete Recognition Scheme (STARS) is a support programme for student athletes who are currently studying at Royal Holloway. It aims to enable students to reach their full potential in their sport while succeeding academically.
