Do you Love Your Campus?

Posted on 22/10/2012

Have you heard of the Love Your Campus project?  It’s being run by the Campus Services department and aims to encourage staff and students to engage with and take care of the spaces we all work and live in.

So far over 40 student volunteers, as well as the entire Lacrosse team, have signed up to be a part of it!  The link below takes you to our notice on the Community Action web page for more information.

We have a schedule of student volunteer litter picking (not the most glamorous job but so worthwhile) each Wednesday afternoon and we have some gardening projects coming up too:

Bulb Planting – Arts Building (meet outside Arts)

Thursday 25 October: 10am-12pm

Thursday 25 October: 1pm-3pm

Friday 26 October: 10am-12pm

Friday 26 October: 1pm-3pm

Bedding Plants – Founder’s Building (meet outside Founder’s reception)

Tuesday 6 November: 10am-12pm

Tuesday 6 November: 1pm-3pm

Wednesday 7 November: 10am-12pm

Wednesday 7 November: 1pm-3pm

Woodland/Pond Clearing (meet at Jane Holloway Hall)

Pruning back shrubs; cutting back plants; clearing scrub and generally revitalising area around the large pond in the Woodland (if you’ve not seen our pond yet, go for a walk and take a look)

Saturday 10 November 9am – 1pm

All staff and students are invited to join in the gardening projects and litter picking; please feel free to come along for all or part of a sessionbut do register by emailing as we have set numbers we can accommodate in relation to the area being worked.

If the above are not for you, and you want an amble around our 135 acres of grounds why not collect a litter picker and gloves from any of the following reception areas and drop off at another:
