The month of November has been a busy time for the Choir of Royal Holloway. The choir, or smaller groups of choral Scholars, have given 8 concerts, 20 services (including a Fauré Requiem and a large memorial service), a conducting workshop with Simon Carrington (founder member of the King’s Singers) and a school outreach project dressed in full Tudor costume.

The concerts reflect the choir’s eclectic associations with other ensembles and included a performance with the jazz trio Acoustic Triangle and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Coventry Cathedral, as well as a concert conducted by Charles Hazlewood in Bristol with an electric guitar orchestra led by the lead guitarist of Portishead, Adrian Uttley.

As Christmas approaches the choir will be singing at a number of carol services, concerts and corporate events. Why not get into the festive spirit and join them for the last Midweek Music concert of 2012 in the College Chapel on Wednesday 12th December at 1.15pm. There will be carols with audience participation plus a few seasonal favourites from the choir.
