As you are aware, UCU and Unite continue to be in dispute with the College over the 2013-14 pay settlement of 1%. While UCU is continuing with its two hour rolling strike action, the next of which will take place on Monday 10th February 9:00 – 11:00, UCU and Unite will be taking a full day of strike action tomorrow, Thursday 6th February.

The policy confirms that where action short a strike is undertaken, the College will not accept partial performance and reserves its right to withhold a percentage of pay up to 100%, where any member of staff is participating in action short of a strike. The College will deduct 1/ 260 of salary for each day a member of staff is on strike. For action on 10th February the formula will be pro rata’d to deduct 2 hours pay. Any money withheld will be donated to the student hardship fund.
Our absolute priority is to ensure that our students’ learning can continue without disruption. Arrangements will be made within departments to reschedule any activities that could potentially be affected and if there are any concerns please contact the Head of Department.
