A Message to Parents and Carers from Bright Horizons
As you may already be aware, Bright Horizons has been appointed to operate the nursery onsite at Royal Holloway, University of London, and we are looking forward to meeting with as many of you as possible over the coming days and weeks.
We understand that the current provider has chosen to cease providing services at the nursery with immediate effect and that this will result in a short and as yet undefined period where the nursery will be closed.
In order for us to begin operating the nursery we must register ourselves as the provider of care and education at the nursery with the regulator, (Ofsted), and this process has been started. We are working with Royal Holloway, Ofsted and the local authority to establish exactly when we can reopen the nursery and will share this information with you as soon as possible.
While this work is in progress we would like to invite you to meet with our team to introduce ourselves and to address your questions. Our team will be onsite at the nursery and we would love to meet as many of you as possible in person:
Monday 6 January between 08.00 and 18.00
There is no need to make an appointment – please just attend when you can and our team members will introduce themselves to you.
We will also be meeting with the existing staff members during this time to identify which staff members will remain at the nursery. It is our express intention to retain any staff members that wish to remain at the nursery and we will be beginning the formal recruitment and transfer process this week.
We do appreciate that the loss of service will cause extreme difficulty with regards your child care arrangements. To that end, and in consultation with the College, we would like to extend an invitation to you to arrange short-term care at one of our other nurseries in the Surrey/Middlesex area. This is intended to provide you with some short-term options while we work to reopen the nursery. The addresses of our nurseries in the locale are as follows:

If you choose to arrange short-term care at any of these settings this will be provided at the same fees paid at the College nursery. Should you wish to enquire as to the availability of places and arrange a tour at any of these nurseries please contact our Parent Enquiry team on 0800 085 4074. Important note
– if your child has been in receipt of the Early years funding for education which is normal for all 3 year olds and above, please can we ask that you attend the nursery on Monday 6 January 2014 before 1pm to complete a funding declaration form. During this time of transition we are working diligently to be able to secure this funding for the spring term and to be able to do this we must have these forms completed. If you are unable to attend but do wish to re-join and apply for the funding then please can you make contact immediately. By no means does this guarantee the funding for the first term will be given, it will allow us to work with Surrey in securing this due to the levels of demand.
